Forward Deployed Engineer

Customer SuccessRemote (US)Full Time

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own the technical execution of AI agent deployments for Flossy's strategic customers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role: you'll scope what each customer needs, turn it into a build plan, connect our agents to their systems, and launch agents that make a measurable difference in how their business runs.

You'll work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to keep feedback loops tight: shipping builds, surfacing gaps, and shaping how Flossy's agent platform evolves based on what real customers need. This role is a great fit for someone who loves shipping technical work in front of customers and can balance fast, hands-on execution with structured thinking.

What you’ll do

  • Own agent deployments end to end for enterprise customers, from system design and scoping through implementation, evaluation, and production launch.

  • Configure and engineer the logic that governs how Fiona, Betsy, Michael, and Reid behave for each customer, improving quality, reliability, and correctness across non-deterministic model outputs.

  • Build and validate guardrails so agents perform safely, compliantly, and predictably across real patient and client conversations.

  • Design, build, and test integrations with customer systems such as practice-management software, phone systems, CRMs, and scheduling tools, including the APIs and workflows needed to deploy reliably across many locations.

  • Work directly with technical and operational leaders at customers to define success criteria and requirements, and drive delivery against timelines.

  • Debug and resolve both technical and model-behavior issues through root-cause analysis of call transcripts, execution traces, and logs.

  • Build evaluation and regression tests that check agent behavior against expected outcomes and catch performance drift.

  • Document what you learn and work closely with Engineering to turn recurring customer needs into platform improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a technical, customer-facing role such as forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or technical consulting.

  • A strong technical foundation: comfortable writing code, working with APIs, and building and validating integrations end to end.

  • A track record of delivering production-grade customer solutions that required structured execution, testing, and iteration.

  • Clear communication with technical and executive stakeholders, and the ability to turn requirements into an implementation plan and drive it to completion.

  • Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where you shape the solution as much as you build it.

Even better if you have

  • Experience building with LLMs or AI agents, including prompting, evaluation, guardrails, tooling, and workflow design.

  • Experience with integrations into practice-management, CRM, telephony, or scheduling systems, and the security and compliance considerations that come with them, such as HIPAA.

  • Experience in dental, medspa, veterinary, wellness, or other appointment-based businesses.

  • Strong product instincts: you can define success metrics and feed customer insight back into the product roadmap.

Why Flossy?

Flossy builds AI agents for the appointment economy. Our agents answer phones, coach front-desk teams, fill schedules, and drive revenue for multi-location businesses in dental, medspa, veterinary, and wellness, and we measure our success by the results we deliver to them.

You'll be the person who makes our agents work in the real world for some of the fastest-growing brands in these industries. You'll work closely with the founders at a company that's scaling fast, with real ownership over how our customers succeed.
